hey, i had to install some codecs to watch a film in windows media player, and when i went to watch some music videos i have which are mpg’s they werein black and white, i have this program which tells me which drivers are installed and it says lots of them are broken because they werent uninstalled properly but i dont know how to get rid of them, ive tried going into control panel and removing them from there but they keep coming back, anyone know how to get rid of them?

The Windows way to get rid of some codecs is this: start/control panel/sound and audio devices/hardware/audio codesc/properties/properties/highlight the one you hate/remove. Same way for video codecs.But before this download Sherlock the Codec Detective from this site and is going to tell you which codec is broken (in red).Write it down and start killing codecs. http://www.free-codecs.com/ Use search for Sherlock.
