Someone sent me a video from their Imate phone and I can’t get it to play. I tried downloading the codecs for XP, and even ran Gspot, but I still can’t get it to play. Under file type windows just has it listed as “file”. Any suggestions on how I can get it to play?

Try Avicodec.Install it and after that click right on your video file and choose AviCodec Detailed information and beside video and audio details is a “web” tab.Click on it and download what you need.http://avicodec.duby.info/

What’s the extension of the video file? The reason I’m asking is some file types that are used by cell phones (notably 3gp and mp4) can’t be read by current diagnostic tools yet (avicodec, gspot, or videoinspector).
If the file does turn out to be a 3gp file, open it with QuickTime Player.
