Colour On Monitor..

I just dont know why, everytime I play any movie on my PC nowadays, the colour just changes..instead of showing Red, it turns into blue, green into yellow, so on and so forth. I have updated my system and downloaded the latest codec from download.com. It seems not to solve my issue. I have uninstalled all codecs and installed a new one. Still the problem persists. How I can be sure this is a codec problem and not due to my monitor or graphics card is that I can view my still photographs on my pc with the correct colours. If anyone know any solution to this problem, it would really be great as I have been trying to solve this issue of mine for around 5 months.Thanks a bunch.
