The playback of audi on the converted .avi files is fine but the videos are playing too fast!!

labish Guest | Changing the profile is going to make your target from 3GP to whatever you like.DivX works better for me on VideoLan Player and I think your player was WMP.DOwnload the player VLC and Avicodec and GSpot and check your target file for what codecs you may need.http://avicodec.duby.info/

Preet Guest | sorry i dont really understand any of the codecs or gspot stuff! i downloaded it but deleted it because i didnt understand the fourCCs stuff.
I dont know wat to do? I dont know anything about codecs and stuff, i just want my 3gp vids to be playable in Windows Media Player at normal speed, any simpler solutions??

Preet Guest | hmmm, i’ve installed it before, but its made no difference. I installed it again, but its still same, I’m using ImToo 3GP converter to convert the files to .avi, and then when i open the .avi files, they’re still playing too fast!!!

labish Guest | You don’t do much but get mad about it! Install Avicodec as I told you before. After that click rigt on your file and choose Avicodec: Detailed Information and beside video and audio details is a tab “web” so get mad and click on it and is going to conect you to the download link of what you need.

Preet Guest | hehe!! well i’ve done as you’ve said (although i had to read it like 6 times before i figured out wat i had to do!!)... it bought up a 'XVid' site, so i downloaded it....and now its trying to download something 'DirectX' thing from the microsoft website....is this right??

labish Guest | As you see the life is hard.Download from www.free-codecs.com VLC player (VideoLan Client) DivX and All in One codec pack. After installing all this stuff you are updated but any time you have a new avi file movie or clips or whatever use Avicodec and see if is going to work.On the same site is a tool called Sherlock and this can tell you what codecs you have on your computer and which is not working properly.Direct X 9 is a must and also the latest driver for your video card.First install DirectX and than the driver for your videocard.Good Luck.

labish Guest | I think you did something at the beginning when you start converting.Take one file and convert it again in DivX.First change the profile to DivX and after that start converting.Than click right on file and open with VLC.

Preet Guest | All i need to do is convert .3gp files to .avi files and save them. I am needing them for a project in Windows Movie Maker 2 which will accept videos in .avi format only? am i correct? The .3gp files play in Quicktime but the format isnt supported by windows media player and i cannot use them in movie maker 2.
Is there a way of converting them from 3gp to .avi without them being so fast?
(!!!!!)

mck9e5fp Guest | Try finding a parameter named “fps” or “frames pr second”, in the program you are using for the conversion from 3gp to whatever.
When converting files from my cell phone, this must be set to 12.

This guy has it sorted!! Just change the frame rate to 12, then it’s normal speed. Cheers mate.
