I am new to this.Sorry if this has been said before, is obvious, etc, but this problem has been goin on 4 ages.I have some .avi files on my computer, between 300mb and 800mb each.I have used Nero 6 to burn them to DVD-RW as well as DVD-R discs with no successful outcome to play on me CyberHome DVD Player. The one successful dvd i was able to make was when i converted a .avi file to an .mpeg then burnt that, but the audio of it was subject to a few seconds delay when playing on the Cyberhome player. Can someone please help me?? It would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You did good but converting avi is not that easy.First find out what kind of avi you have and after that you may start looking for the right convertion: avi to vcd avi to dvd Xvid to cd or DVD DivX to cd or dvd and so on.For this download GSpot and AviCodec both video analizers.Play with both and click on Rendering from GSpot and “web” from Avicodec to find out what codecs you may need.Install codecs pack like All in One a lite version or a mega pack like Ace or K-Lite also video players like BSplayer or VLC VideoLan Client one of the best at this time.Play your avi and if video and audio come up ok start looking for convertion.About video converters I did not see yet a free one so Google a trial and deal with your budget.Adobe Premiere 1.5 has one included but is more complicated also with a trial software. Here is a link for the free stuff:http://www.free-codecs.com/ After convertion you may go to Nero Vision and add your video file. Before burning play the file and be sure about your video system and format, update Nero from here:http://www.nero.com/us/nero-up.php Never burn an avi on cd or dvd you may end-up with a data burning and won’t play on your dvd player.First check the file and convert it for the right format.
