DVD burnung taking to long

I’m trying to burn some avi files to a dvd so that they are in a DVD format. I’m using nero and when i go to burn the DVD it takes about 3 hours to 'Transcode' the video before burning. Is there any way to speed this up? Is there a program that I can use which will convert the files faster first?

Any help really appriciated.

The easiest way to speed up transcoding, without causing loss in quality, is to use a faster PC and/or get more ram. 1 gig should suffice.

3 hours is faster than my PC does it. You’re lucky :-).
