No sound after exporting AVI

Sorry if this has been posted earlier, but could someone please help me out?

I used Premiere 6.0 to edit a video (with audio), add transitions, etc. I exported it as an .avi file (Microsoft DV AVI uncompressed), but it won’t open in windows media player. I was able to open it in Quicktime, and the sound worked.

I tried to burn it on to a dvd, but when trying to preview the file in myDVD, the video is fine, but there’s no audio.
