Maximum audio level everytime video stopped and restarted

I have a big problem with all my video software so I guess it must be some kind of codec-problem.

Everytime I rewind or forward a video-file (using WMP, Media Player Classic, Real Player etc.) the volume gets up to 100% on my computer. But the software does not show the boost, it continues to show the level it had before the gain. And as fast as you change the audio level it goes back to the level it is supposed to have.

This happened I think after installing something, some codec or other new software, but the thing is I’ve had it for a couple of months so I don’t really remember what caused it.

I’d be very thankful for any kind of help!

Ciao
