Audio won't play for DivX

I’m trying to play a DivX movie in Quicktime. The movie properties page says I need the MPEG Layer 3 audio codec. I downloaded it and put it into the Library/Quicktime folder. Is that the wrong place to put it? It’s a .exe file, so does Mac not recognize it?
