If you use search look what you can find:http://www.moviecodec.com/topics/5093p1.html .After you find out what kind of file you have look for a converter from avi to dvd and around here WinAvi is very popular but is a shareware.VOS DivX to DVD is a freeware and very fast: http://www.vso-software.fr/ After convertion with VOS you may use VOS Copy to DVD shareware or any kind of burning software you like.

Hi.

There are 2 types of file

Type: of Movie File (MPEG)

Type: of Movie Windows Medidia Audio/Window File

I have tried using VOS DivX to DVD and then VOS Copy to DVD

What i’m getting is, the disc i have created will play on the PC, via Movie Windows Medidia Player.

But when i play disc on the dvd player, it comes up “can’t Play This format” and on the front display panel it comes up Wma/Mp3.

What am i doing wrong, in regards to using VOS

Thanks to all that gave advice.

1st of all , I don’t understand what U r talking about. 2ndly, if U r an American or British, I suggest that U should re-defined ur english. U describe here that U have 2 kind of files. 1 is in mpeg n the other in plain wma. If U kindly enough 2 put all the facts in more specific detail, then may b I can help U. Otherwise I can’t.

For sure when you start converting left it on automatic. If you play with VSO is fast and good but with the setting on automatic for standard and format you may endup with a wrong video system and if your standalone dvd player is not multisystem won’t play it.Simple for you Pal= Europe and some countries around NTSC= North American.Switch automatic for standard and format to your video system and remember 4:3 is normal tv 16:9 is widescreen.WinAvi has these switches on advanced tab.And please download some media players from this site like VideoLan, WMP is not the best.Just click on media players. If you are in love with WMP here is a link for codecs: http://download.microsoft.com/download/a/0/3/a0398036-25b9-410c-b371-c59957c1b0f4/WM9Codecs.exe
