Low framerate and jumping screen...???

Hello. My english is very rusty and bad, but try to understand. Ok, I have problem with .AVI file, when I try to watch it with newest DivX player I have very low framerate, and little jumping all the time, its annoiyng but its watchable. With media player, terrible jumping, cant watch. I have allmost all codecs, 1ghz, GF4TI, 768MB, newer have this problem before and i have hundreds of movies.

I have the same problem while trying to watch the English Patient. Anyone knows what the solution to the jumping images is?
