Celticghal Guest | Hi
I’ve been trying for days to burn films I have downloaded onto a dvd -r so that it can play on a stand alone DVD player.
My computer already has NTI CD&DVD Maker and Cyberlink PowerProducer Gold.
I have tried burning as .avi and also mpeg.
It works fine on my computer but when I try the Stand alaone DVD player it says “incorrect format”.
Please can someone help. It is getting really frustrating.
Thanks in advance
CJ

labish Guest | NTI is not one of the best burning software but has a nice interface.First what kind of avi you have and what size.GSpot can help you to find out.If is a vob is ready for dvd to burn but check the video system or your dvd player for plying Pal and NTSC, if the file is just avi have to be converted to whatever format you want VSD/SVCD/DVD.Here you may find some tools to download: http://www.9down.com/

Celticghal Guest | Thanks.
I have divX installed and this enables me to watch all my downloads on my computer.
I’m really sorry but I’m not technically minded and thought it was just a case of downloading and burning.
I have an avi file that I converted to mpeg - but the same error appears when i try to use a stand alone dvd player.

Celticghal Guest | Thanks, Mike.
I have dvd decryper but it only allows me to chose from my optical drive. The files i want to burn are on my hard drive. Can this be changed?

Celticghal Guest | Oh, my Ghod, Mike, Thanks.
I’ve been trying for weeks and now I can finally play my downloads on a stand alone dvd player.
I have a poratble dvd player, too, but it’s quite old so I don’t think supports divx, is there a way to burn them so they can play on a player without divx?
Thanks again

Celticghal Guest | Nop, sorry. I’m not using DVD Decrypter and Nero, it’s Divx to DVD and Nero I’m using.
I’ve gone into DVD Decrypter and the Mode tab and the choice is FILE, IFO or ISO>Read/Write
I can’t see anything that offers the option to change the source.

Celticghal Guest | Actually, what file type does it have to be?
It’s not finding any files at all, avi/mpeg/iso etc.
Can you advise?

joe morris Guest | Look for file: search on google for Divx to dvd converter , it works, then burn with nero express, all from torrent files.

joe morris Guest | One drawback , you have to find something to do inbetween downloading, decoding and burning!!!
