in order to copy dvd to dvd direct do i need 2 dvd drives or can the master drive be a cd drive

it would be preferable (less hassle certianly) to use a dvd ripper to save the dvd to your hard drive in order to burn it, but with the right program and a dvd-rom as well as a dvd-burner(have to have both) you could do it
