I recorded a clip/movie using Nikon coolpix 5200. Nikon file format for movies is MOV. The movie is about 75 secs and the size is about 16MB. I tried to upload this file to yahoo but timed out coz of the file size. Is there anyway I can reduce the file size and send it to friends and family to view the movie. Appreciate your comments. Thanks,
Ramana

Very original post and you are not the only one making the same Idea compressing a video file is not working like a zip file. One rule is to compress and decompress with the same software but a video compressed use a lot of RAM and finaly is not smaller. The story is longer try Google and read what you think is helpful for you but my advice is this:Use a Video Slice and cut the file in pieces big enough to fit the e-mail and advice your family to put the slices together with a joiner and watch it.Here you have a link to download a video slice. http://www.riverpast.com/index.php

When using .MOV files you have to save 2 copy of it , using the Quick time Pro , try to save 1 copy as self contained movie and 1 copy as a reference movie , and uploade both to your yahoo website using WS_FTP PRO not the yahoo uploader or front page coz the time in those last 2 is limited .
