I have a strange problem - every media player movie I try to play suddenly is without sound.
The error is C00D10D1, but on the web help they don’t have the right codec, it says to look for “1” on the fourcc site.
GSpot says I have more than one good codec for each movie, but when I try to render the files it syas “partial faliure, and gives the same error for all the files, here is an example:

DirectShow partially succeeded to play file. The actual text of the error or warning is:

0x00040242: VFW_S_PARTIAL_RENDER - Some of the streams in this movie are in an unsupported format.

The following combination of filters were used:

{F:\Lost In Translation - English - CD1.avi} (Video Source)
{AVI Splitter} (Video Splitter)
{ffdshow MPEG-4 Video Decoder} (Video Decoder)
{Video Renderer} (Video Renderer)

I have codecs divx, xvid, ffdshow and ac3filter. So far there were no problems but now even movies that playes well don’t have sound.
Anyone knows what the problem could be?

after downloading a few suggest codecs, my sound is litterly missing.. even playing streaming video or dvd’s.. yet nothing shows to be a problem in the system or errors showing. switched out speakers everything. is there something the codecs might have triggered?
