viewing partly downloaded files

Hi,
I’m using limewire sharing software, through which I d/w movies. I’m able to open a partially downloaded movie using the divx player, but I’m not able to search/seek the movie. Is there a codec I need to download?

the best thing to do is make shure you correctly .typed in the movie my oppinoun is to download mpeg 1 or 2 or 3 format. dont download divx files because you cant burn them on dvd’s because the format needs to be in mpeg files. divx is not as good i think as mepeg becuse the bitrate is higher than a divx file and takes up more space.
