Lifes-A-Charm Guest | Okay everyone, I have tried to follow almost every guide and trick on this website and I have issues it seems with every one of them. I tried burning a movie that I downloaded that is an .avi file, I burned it as a data cd and none of my DVD players will play it for one, I tried using DIVXtoDVD and use NERO to burn it and none of my players will play it, it freezes at the menu screen. I tied just using NERO to encode and burn and once the files have been encoded and ready to burn, no matter what type of DVD+-R, RW or even CD-RW/R that I use, my burner won’t recognize it???? PLease help me! I have no clue and I have been trying to figure this out for 2 years now! 2 YEARS! Can anyone help me??? There are so many guides out there that I have no idea which one to try next.
Thanks in advance for any help that you guys can give me.

U can try “WinAvi” video converter....
burn the movie using " nero " but at lower speed..
your dvd playr might not read if u burn it in maximum speed..
u can try to burn at “2x”
or...
a) youre dvd writer might be at its last...
b) your avi might be corupted..(dont think so..)
c) u burn the dvd faster than the dvd playr supports. (supports reading)
u can find winavi converter at:
http://www.winavi.com/en/download/download.htm
hope i did helped u a lil bit..
_______
peace.
p.s: u got the problem only this this avi movie.. or with all the avi movies? or.. with duplicate a dvd movie?...details..
p.s: is more about a) and c) coz if its corupted.. i dont think divxtodvd could re encode it as a dvd (.vob) format. soooo
more details would be better
thnx.

Kerry Guest | This is both a answer and an question.
a. I have found every case of DVDR freezing during the end of a movie to be fixed temporarily by blowing air into the DVD Player cracks around the door. It will eventually freeze again and can be restarted by again blowing air around th eopening. This fixed both computer and stand alone players of different models. This I would assume to indicate a heating problem with one of the chips in the players that is only used for DVDR playback.
q. Can anyone tell me which chip needs to have a heatsink put on it?? Or some other workaround to over come the apparent built in problemwith many of these players. I have tested this on 3 standalone players and a laptop. They all start plying when air is blown in.
Thanks

Jakus Guest | I have winavi and can’t seem to get it to work with downloaded movies. It gets to 99% complete and then says the burn finished but it’s not finalizing the disc so any time I put it in my pc it asks what I want to do with the blank disc; and it does noting when put into a dvd player, just keeps loading. Any help??
