Copying downloaded video files from BS to DVD.

Please help, I’m sorta new a this. I’m having problems copying my video files from BS to DVD. I’m using Neuro, I was told to select “create data video” and add the files I want. I did so, but it wouldn’t play in my dvd player,it plays on the computer fine. Then I tried to created a SVCD using a cd-rw,same problem, my dvd doesn’t recognize any info. I keep getting disc error. What am I doing wrong or do I need an additional software program besides Neuro? Thanks
