JJR Guest | Who has the best out there? I’m currently running Kazaa’s latest and also the latest Divix Bundle. I thought that they were ok untill I discovered that this great site was back online.
Now I see that there are some other codec packages offered here.
Any ideas!
TIA & Happy Holidays!

Regular Rep: 0 Joined: 14 Nov 2003 Posts: 615 OFFLINE | I don’t use any codec packs. All I use are the required codecs, installed individually:
- 3ivX for XviD and DivX playback
- Moonlight Odio Dekoda for MP3 and AC3 audio playback
- Real Alternative codecs
- QuickTime Alternative codecs
Media Player:
- Zoom Player
- Media Player Classic (for Real and Quicktime stuff obviously)
Media Player for previewing incompletely downloaded video content:
- VideoLAN (uses its own filters)
I could just use MPlayer (Win32) for watching movies since you don’t need to install any codecs, mostly, because it uses its own filters, but I choose not to do that.

JJR Guest | Would you think that by using the Divix Bundle and the Latest Kazaa codecs that they will interfear with each other?
I have been having problems with some movies acting up after they have been played for ahwile, but there is a good chance that the downloads were bad to start with.
I really like to stick with my Windows media player for conveniance, which would be best for that?
Has any used the DR Divx? Would that cover all codecs needed?
If I went with the
- 3ivX for XviD and DivX playback
- Moonlight Odio Dekoda for MP3 and AC3 audio playback
- Real Alternative codecs
- QuickTime Alternative codecs
Would they work fine with my Windows Media Player 9 ok?
