PrepaerToEncode() Method fails while encoding live data to wmv

Hi,

I am developing a application for encoding (Compressing)a live data in .wmv using windows media encoder 9 SDK. In my application all methods return S_OK but PrepareToEncode() Before StartPreview() method fails.
I have used my custom profile by using Codec ISO MPEG-4 v1.
Can anybody pls tell me what could be the reasons for failing of that method.
But the microsoft’s Encoder Utility runs fine with my own Custom Profile encoding live data to .wmv.
