hl2 dvd 3.8gb bin file mistaken for cdrom size

Hello! my problem is a really quirky one! im using win98. i have hl2 as a 3.8g bin file! if i use alcohol120% or daemon tools to mount it i can only read the first 1000megs and i get a device error. if i try to burn it, the program asks for a cd-r. and it doesent accept a dvd-r. so basically the programs thinks it is a cdrom image and not a dvd image! what should i try next. there is no cue file available!!!!! blasted und shitten!!!
