kees klef Guest | I’d wait with the burning part untill i had enough material to burn a full dvd if i where you. OR you can burn the converted short dvd to a dvd rewritable, so you might be able to watch it on tv. I dont know if every dvd player 'eats' dvd-rw/+rw but you can read that in the manual.
I use a fine peace of freeware to convert avi into dvd (ifo, vob etc) formats: VSO DivxToDVD.
Store the files on your harddisk in separate folders. Then use your Nero Recode to make a new DVD (and shrink it to 4.5gb to fit). Recode will remap for you. BUT with Recode you cannot add menus. If you want menus it is possible with Nero too, even before convertion to dvd-files, but then you use Nero Vision Express. Nero is not the fastest converter/dvd builder in the world... so you should do this at night with internet/virusscan/all other programs off if you have a slow pc or youll end up with a dvd with a delay in sound or movie or whatever.
I managed to put 4 original bought Barbie (kids) dvds on 1 dvd:
rip the main movie with dvd shrink and compress it a few times. Then use Nero Recode and add all the movies you like. Nero can again autocompress the files so they fit on a standard dvd. The result is a menuless dvd with 4 films with chapters and subtitles or multilanguage. Whatever you decided to keep with dvd shrink. Dvd shrink is freeware as well. And the Nero suit isnt that expensive or hard to get.
Good Luck!
