I went to burn another DVD video disk with Nero which were in the .vob format and when I put the disk in to the DVD player, it seems there is a vertical hold problem. I have searched the internet and cannot find anything. Does anybody have any suggestions?

damage.com Guest | I found your post because I googled for the same problem. I think I’ve found the answer; your output was in PAL format instead of NTSC — or perhaps the other way around.
Download divXtoDV
http://www.vso-software.fr/divxtodvd/divxtodvd.htm
Which can convert various files to DVD format. Start the program, and you will get a startup screen. Look for two choices that say “Aspect” and “Standard”. Ignore Aspect. Under Standard, pick “Force NTSC etc." Then convert your files.
My problem with both Nero and DivXtoDVD was that they chose to convert my video files to PAL, which when played in a standard DVD player, caused the black and white/vertical hold problems. This drove me nuts, but my conversions work now.
Good hunting!

Russ Brown Guest | Thanks for the info! I figured there was an app out there that would do what I needed to do, it was a matter of finding it! I have tried doing this, but only remotely and I got error messages. I’ll give it a shot later on and let you know. Thanks again for the help!
