Leonil Guest | I’ve been dowloading a few movies lately, and sometimes, my Avi preview only plays a smal part of what is already downloaded.
For example, the file is say 500 megs. I have about 400 megs downloaded, but out of a 1 hour show, Avi Preview is only playing 10 minutes of the whole thing. Is this a problem? A glitch, or something I don’t know about, like a spyware virus or anything?
Thanks muchly

Nick Guest | Yeah, I know what you mean. I have a file that exceeds 800 megs in size but it only plays for thirty seconds on AVI Preview. I believe it might have something to do with the fact that the file is being downloaded from separate users which might cause the file to not compile correctly until all of the users have finished uploading. But then again, you guess is as good as mine.

- = not done
x = done
Your file starts out like this:
— — — — — — — -
Assume you find 3 uploaders (A, B, and C) and Kazaa assigns them to upload the parts like this:
AAAAABBBBBCCCCC
— — — — — — — -
As time goes by the download goes like this...
AAAAABBBBBCCCCC
X — — XXX — XXXX-
Assume A has a superslow connection, and B and C are done. You have something like this:
AAAAABBBBBCCCCC
X — — XXXXXXXXXX
You’re mostly done, but you’re still waiting for A. AVIPreview will only preview up to the point of truncation. It will not skip over holes.
