marcus i dont understand the website you gave me are the websites free and could you give me some tips to download free music onto a cd on these websites please

Buddy that’s a good question and is very well connected to the country you’re from.P2P peer to peer system like Kazaa is ilegal but some countries are ok with downloading music so far you don’t make a profit from it.In USA is a pain in the neck commission called RIAA and because they don’t have anything to do check the internet provider and charge people for downloading music.So far the torrent system is very popular for now just God knows for how long and you can get a Bit Torrent client a tool to get on site and start browsing the site and download what you want.Some torrent site are free some you have to register with them and is no charge.For burning cd that’s a different story but you can start downloading a small software like Clone CD and play with.The site I gave you type on search download what you need and use the link.

Everything is illegal 2day even in the UK. U have 2 adapt 2 start using the paid services avaliable 4 legal dloading. Keep ur ARSE away from the fire b4 it too late. 4 £0.50p a song instead of £50,000 big pounder fine n shaking bar.

I am trying to write ifo files from vob files using ifoedit and am still getting the answer 'could not find vob unit in VOB files@. What could be the problem? Anybody please help...

One more question, guys.

Does it matter in which order is the menu put on DVD (as a file)?
Because i have downloaded a movie and the menu is on the last place as VTS_01_5.VOB.
Should i rename the file as VTS_01_1.VOB to be the first or it isn’t important.

Can somebody tell me if is this important?

What is really bothering me is that I have my two VOB files (created by IfoEdit from an MPG - I only want one file but it seems to split my MPEG itsefl), but Nero wants to burn them as separate chapters! I have NO DESIRE to burn them as separate chapters!

Is it just me, or does Nero suck?

I have the answer, and it wasn’t some $30 shareware thank you very much - I am using Nero Express (which came free with my burner so I am loath to spend more $$$) in Recode mode. With DVD-Video button selected, I just hit the Import DVD button and select the VIDEO_TS folder and it imports everything automatically with no fuss. So:
1) DVD Shrink to get the files onto hard drive
2) Nero Express in Recode mode to burn a proper DVD instead of an ISO that might not play on your DVD player.

I wish Nero’s Help files could explain things better. That’s why I’m studying to be a tech writer - most of the documentation out there now SUCKS! It’s a growth industry kids!

The files that come staight from the decrypting process ( VOB’s, IFO’s etc..), wen i try to open the whole video_ts file with dvd shrink it sais that the specified file cant b found or that its not supported or sumtin. wat do i do.
help would b greatly appruciated.

hi all,

i get the same error:

''Could not find any VOB unit in VOB file(s)''.

However i have the coorect naming of VTS_01_1.VOB

This is the only .vob that i want to create the IFO for Im using IFOEDITv0.96

i see a lot with the same issue but can see a solution

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated

For easy burning only .VOB files with nero, replace the .VOB extension with .mpg, then open nero with make Video DVD and add the files. EASY!
Remember .VOB is actually just a MPEG2 file..

i have downloaded a film using p2p its finished as a single VOB file with no other BUP or ISO files etc i can play it on my pc using ALSHOW but i cant burn it onto a dvd using shrink, dvd decrypter or nero. i have also tried vobedit but this seems to me to enable you to join vob files together but as i only have 1 file for the whole movie @ 1gb this will not work any help would be great thanks

Does NOT do the job if the videos are film framerate vob’s.. Even if you change the vob file extention to mpg, it will NOT import them. Also, it want’s to “RECODE” any video it works with, and it has a rather poor mpg encoder, at least with version 6. IN MY experience...

Here’s the only answer I have for you off the top, that has worked for me in the past.
First, rename the .VOB’s extention names or the whole file names into .MPG’s.. EXAMPLE : VTS_01_1.VOB would be renamed to VTS_01_1.MPG and so on.
Then bring the files into your DVD burning program like you would for a new movie. NOTE: This will not usually work with framerates of 24fps or 23.97fps, if you have these type of files, then you will have to suffer another bunch of steps, which include using a framerate converter, depends on the software you are using to render the DVD’s.
Some sort of Pulldown will have to occur, or if you are wanting to keep a framerate of 24fps, then I suggest MUXMAN. MUXMAN will mux m2v’s and mpa’s and it has a manual chapter interpreter, which requires you know frame numbers to set the chapters. Otherwise it will just mux and make a DVD without chapters, which sometimes doesn’t playback well on DVD players in my experience.
Anyway, software is the important factor, and there are so many programs doing so many different things, and none of them do it ALL,, but I think Adobe Premiere/After Effects,, does a lot more than most.. I don’t own either programs and have had workarounds with many different programs, and there are a lot of freeware programs that do the trick for PULLDOWN and Timestamping. DGPULLDOWN is a nice program for changing or tricking your video editor into thinking it is using a 29.97fps video, when it is actually a 23.97fps film. Interlacing and progressive type video makes a difference also..
I assume since you used the word FILM, that it is possibly 24fps? If so, then the only program I have used successfully to make a DVD at that framerate is MUXMAN, though Adobe products can handle it, if you can afford those programs,,, it would save you serious time and problems.. IF you want to save money, than use MUXMAN after you demux the VOB’s into M2V’s and MPA audio files,, it will remux them into a playable DVD. You should be able to demux the videos using some sort of demuxing program. If you use Nero,, it will usually RE-ENCODE your videos to a usually poor quality, so I would not recommend using Nero to edit the MPG’s with,, but it’s your choice.
An ifo editor is another option,, but you will need time to learn the code used and the way video is structured on a DVD,, including Interlaced frames and Progressive arrangement, and stuff that requires added memory to your wetware (brainpan),, which I attempted but,, knowing that the work involved would not be appreciated, I opted for alternate methods. Anyway,, that’s my input, which may be outdated by now. GOOD LUCK.
