This has probabbly been asked a thousand times but I cant find a 100% answer.

I have a film on my hard drive which is just .vob files, there is one .ifo file present but only one.

I would like to burn this to DVD, Im not fussed about menus or anything like that I just want it to play.

Can I do it without the other files?, If so How?
I have nero oem 6, dvd decrypter, ultraISO (havent used yet) and a couple of other proggys.

Any help would be great, Cheers

If anyone knows how to do this, please let me know as well. I do not need fancy menus or intros, just to play the movie.

I have a document that describes how to burn a DVD from VOB files only. If you need more info, I will send you this document. Meanwhile, you need to download the following free programs: IfoEdit, VobEdit and ImgTool. Look for them on the internet. They can be found easily. I have not yet done it, so be prepared to test on your own. It looks quite easy.

Found an easier way. Get hold of a copy of Nero 6 Ultra edition with visionexpress etc. Does a wonderful job!

I have the same problem but I have the IFO, BUP and the VOB but cant get NERO Vision Express to burn as a 'movie'. It will only offer to 'Make movie' then proceed to burn the files but not in a format to play as a movie but like a data files.
How did you get it to burn a 'movie'??

With Nero Vision pick Make a DVD and add video file and work only with vob file from your video ts folder. If you have a video ts folder complete with ifo and bup files in it and you don’t have Nero, CloneDVD2 or Copy to DVD work with the video ts folder.Just point to this folder and the software is going to burn the dvd. Before you burn it be sure about your video system setting NTSC or PAL.Here is a linkt to Clone DVD2:http://www.slysoft.com/en/ and here to Copy to DVstraighthttp://www.vso-software.fr/ and here is a guide how to put a bin file on dvd.Use the part about burning with Nero and good luck.

This would work but the problem with NeroVision is that it splits home recorded DVD files into 30 second clips and when the DVD is burned it makes the clip just every thirty seconds. What I overall wish to do is take clips from many DVDs and put them onto one. Is there anyway I could do this?

This is mainly just for trimming clips. Is there a way to stop Nero splitting the files into 30 second clips?

Here is a link to Nero tutorial for Vision 2 but is almost the same with V3.ftp://ftp6.nero.com/Support_doc/PDF-Vision2/createMovie-using.pdf if is not working (loading time is slow) go to this and pick creating a movie: http://ww2.nero.com/enu/631956523192996.html The graphic is good how to set your end for a video clip.

I know how to use it but it splits VOB files from home made DVDs into thirty second clips. Then when the DVD is burned it jutters every 30 seconds. I have tried Demuxing and Multiplexing but it hasnt worked. Could someone please post that document on how to burn VOB files without IFO and BUP files.

Thanks

Alex

Here is the solution to having VOB files without the accompanying IFO, BUP files. Or, if you have damaged IFO or BUP files.

1) Download IFOEDIT. It is a tiny appliction and is free

2) Run IFOEDIT and click on the button at the bottom that says Create IFOs.

3) Select the 1st VOB file in the series that you have saved

4) Click OK

5) It will take a little while depending on the speed of your system, however, it will analyze all of the VOB files in your directory and create the necessary IFO and BUP files.

6) You can now burn your DVDs the regular way.

First question by Mondo is how to burn a vob with Nero no menus or something pro.The answer is load only vob’s in order 1.1 1.2 and so on with Nero Vision and choose the right video system Pal or NTSC and burn it.Later he found Nero Vision 3 with Nero 6 now is Nero 7 Premium with Nero Vision 4.The pro way was explained in a post above this to use an ifo editor and make something nice also any dvd authoring software is doing this.My choice is Tsunami MPEG short TMPGEnc plus or Xpress. The other questions got out of topic.

Ensure you name the files correctly, this error popped up when I udsed them, so I renamed the first file “VTS_01_1.VOB”, then VTS_01_2.VOB etc. The IFOs should generate after that.
