Jazz Guest | Convert is simple it comes with DVF Player (Sony Digital Voice Editor 2)
Just right click the file in Digital Voice Editor 2 window and it will give you the options.
My Question still stands How can we play DSS in Media Player. By the way DVF can be played in Media Palyer only if Digital Voice Editor 2 is loaded on the System. But same does not go for DSS as we have DSS palyer loaded still can not play it

ron Guest | I have a page of info on using the dvf files at http://tech.zm3.net/static.php?page=sony_dvf_files. Here’s the text; go there for the links:
Making better use of those annoying DVF voice-recorder files
I like my Sony voice recorder (ICD-BP150), but I’ve always been annoyed by the fact that there was no easy direct bulk conversion of the proprietary DVF format files it generates to something more widely usable. All the Sony Digital Voice Editor sofware that comes with it will do on conversion is convert files one-by-one, and then only to WAV, not to, say, MP3.
But now I have a solution, thanks to the NCH Swift Sound folks. Go get a copy of their free Windows programs Express Scribe and Switch Sound File Conversion, and visit their Sony Windows Media Plugin page and get the Sony Media Player Plugin.
Install all three of these things, and you’ll be able to (a) convert batches of DVF files to MP3 (or WAV) with the converter, (b) handle the files nicely when transcribing them with Express Scribe, as well as (c) play the files directly in you Windows Media Player with the plugin.

Jazz Guest | Thanks Ron,
I happen to get the solution for DVF through Plugin (exe name: PLAYERPLUGINSETUP.EXE) Exact name “Sony Player Plug-in 1.24 For Windows Media Player." You do’nt need Sony Player if you load the plugin.
Your solution “Switch Sound File Conversion” is now only solution with us . Still i look for DSS plugin as best solution.
Many Thanks,
— Jazz

Mikhail Guest | Downloaded and installed Sony plug-in for media player, as well as Switch freeware. Still it cannot play and/or convert .dvf file complaining that Sony codec is not installed (refering to the Sony media player plug-in that I just installed).
Anybody has any ideas?
Thank you.

mundi Guest | oh, and one more thing - here’s a URL where you might be able to find the sony digital voice editor. hope it works for whoever needs it. it’s just so annoying, sony and their software properiaty crap.
http://irish.typepad.com/irisheyes/2005/11/sony_digital_vo.html
anyway, if it still doesn’t work, google for it, you could probably find a few more kind souls in cyperspace who uploaded it for the benefit of us all...

roberto Guest | Get the DVR-Explorer from here:
http://www.diasonic.com/english_re/pds/list2.php
I had to use the older version to work with my DDR-3000R.
After you upload your files from the recorder to your computer, select one or all of the files in the part for your computer. Under File in the top menu, it has the option to convert dvf to wav. Then, you can convert it to mp3 with any software.
Cheers!!!
