TechTard Guest | I downloaded a episode of The Unit from ITunes yesterday. I tried playing it on ITunes and on Quicktime but both were very choppy and the audio was not matching the video. I downloaded VLC and when I played it, there was no sound or video, but the progress bar was acting as if the video was being played.
The file extension is .m4v
Any suggestions?? | |

Holly275 Guest | Thank you! VLC media player worked like a charm.
I was also receiving error -8971. I tried to update WinAmp, Quicktime, Codec 4 Windows Media player etc and received sound, no pic. Finally tried VLC Media play and it works! Thanks again for your advice!

bogster1 Guest | I bought a Sanyo Xacti digital video camera that records on SD cards and all video is in .MP4 MPEG-4 format. I can’t believe that Windows Media Player has elected not to support MP4 and Quicktime does not fully support it?

bah Guest | I’m having almost the same problem as Snakecharmer. VLC is playing the file, but the picture is really shaky and glitchy, pausing and going in and out. Sound seems to work fine, however.

mira_bella Guest | for to be able to watch at a movie in format iso image files it’s necessary to install a virtual cd/dvd-rom in your computer, put the iso file into and open it with a powerDVD and that’s it. it’s not so hard how it seems. best of luck!

Well I myself, tried hard to play a file format wich was registered whit an Professional Video Camera
The File format is an MP4 .

Whit VLC or Winamp the image can be seen.
But the Sound is missing... i read more above there is an Xvid codecs witch solves the Probmlem.. but no way ...
So felows.. do you got any reasonable solution playing an MP4 video format Video and Audio ?

jpom22 Guest | the owner of the professional video camera probly has a cd with the software to play the videos - borrow that disc, d/l the software and you should be good to go.
if the owner wont lend you the disc, at least he/she might give you the make/model # of the camera - then see if you can d/l the software from the mfg’s website, or call the company, see if you can lie them into sending you the cd (“i bought the camera on vacation in maui, got stoned, lost the sales receipt”
good luck. | |

Minasantaria Guest | How do you convert .mp4 into .mp3? Without the converter needing to be bought and without it placing some words that link in and out during the entire video.
