Dave69 Guest | I’ve tried a bunch of stuff and I finally hit this site and found the answers I needed.
I found that FrancisUncleCharlieKatie U. had the easiest, no brainer approach that works flawlessly for me.
1. Download and install VSO DivXtoDVD - It’s FREEWARE unlike the others and can be downloaded at: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_encoders/vso_divxtodvd_free.cfm
2. Run the program, and select the files you wish to convert (select your .avi file)
3. Convert the file - create a directory called the name of your movie and convert it to there. You can either use the option to auto-burn, or not - I don’t use it, rather I load up Nero Express (the free version that came with my DVD Burner) and select the Burn DVD-Video Files option.
4. Click the Add button in Nero Express and navigate to the folder with the files that were converted with DivXtoDVD and Nero will do the rest.

platnumsurfer Guest | Hey, I’m in the navy and my buddy just got back from Guam or the Philippians, anyhow, he has a dvd with like 15 movies on it, and he vows that they are all great quality (i haven’t seen it myself but iv heard of other people buying them for like 5 bucks from kids in the street...) how are they able to get so many files on a dvd and allow it to play on a regular player and maintain the quality. -platnumsurfer@yahoo.com

Nene Guest | In order to burn AVI files to DVD format (ISO File), you will need a converting tool to do this I use ConvertX to DVD, it works GREAT! That program will also burn that movie onto a DVD for you, so you don’t even need Nero 6 at all....Hope that helped!

steo Guest | you cant burn avi, your best bet would be to download the freeware version of any video converter and convert the avi format to a mpeg2 format for dvd player use. not all dvd players can play it. but if it is a modern dvd player it should

I have been messing w/ nero trying video cds, Svcds, and minidvd, because i knew you could watch standard cd’s on a dvd player. the data cd took care of that for me. thank you for helping me figure that out. follow those instructions exactly, and you can put dvd movies that are in avi/xvid/divx for right onto a cd-r which you can watch on most dvd players. No conversion needed!! Great advice thank you.

vaskaronline Guest | Guys,
need a simple answer...
I have multiple Movies which are in different formats *.avi or *.wmv or mpeg.
I want to burn 2-3 or 4 such movies into a single DVD (4.7G with menus, so that I can play them in my laptop as a DVD and also use them in my DVD player to watch onscreen via projector.I would also like to know how to create those menus so that when i play it in my DVD player i can select which movie to choose from when projected onscreen.
Is the whole operation possible using Nero 7?
If yes, please let me know the steps as
Step1: do this this this
Step 2: do this and this
step 3: then do this..
etc etc..
If the above is not possible using Nero 7 , then could anyone please let me know which software
(freeware/shareware/purchased) can help me do this?
Thanks!
( i have gone through the entire communication till now and was quite confused being not so technocrat like you all.So parden me if its a repeat question, however would expect a to-the-point solution to my message.)
Really appreciate your time and help.
Cheers!

m.ALI Guest | let me also say that winavi is a realy bad program wich i would never recommand anyone to use, it loses a huge amount of quality while converting and it’s not advanced in any way, its just something those ppl made for a bunch of 12-15 year olds who want to use these small fuetures....

cheetah Guest | I agree with FrancisUncleCharlieKatie, know your software a little bit before you ask for help. I too use DivX to DVD. This is such an easy software to use, and very user friendly. Once all of your video files (avi’s) are converted, simply use Nero to burn them to DVD. Its that simple. Try and explore your software, and teach yourself, its really not that complicated. Bravo to those of you who actually read these threads to help people.
