dan the man Guest | well i have been converting ect for 2 yrs now !!!
an easy option is to download a programme called vso or convert x to dvd !!
these programmes will convert your avi. files ( about 1hr - 1hr 30min ) and then it will automatically burn that image for you !!!!

Roddoga Guest | The best way is to yes listen to Lee420, he is correct, WinAvi is the best converting software and the fastest there is,
It is pretty simply to get a dvd to work on your PS2 or DVD just convert the avi movie file with WinAvi to DVD and you will get a folder with Video and Audio now burn this folder with nero burning rom and walla if you have a good dvd player which plays VCD, SVCD, DVD-R and DVD-RW and Divx playback you should have no problem in playing the movie. The best disc to burn too from my experience is Verbatim, i have had no problems with this brand, it will play anything you shove on it, and a good DVD player is OPPO DV-970HD, this DVD player will basically play anything you chuck at it.
Oh and if you don’t won’t too pay for WinAvi and the latest Nero download Utorrent and go to mininova.com and download it there

Angel227 Guest | THe post by JohnBoy, quoted below, is absolutely right. I couldnt bear the thought of downloading a thousand programs and going through a ton of junk just to burn a movie onto a dvd. I downloaded vision express and was able to convert it simply by choosing export as.
You CAN get it at nero’s sight, and you CAN get it through programs like limewire. It does take a little while ( about the length of the movie) which is still much easier than running it through a dozen programs. I set it to convert when I went to bed, and when I woke up and it was done, I set it to burn while I was doing the morning routine thing.

What you need to do is, Download the vision express plug-in for nero, if you have a legit copy of nero then you can get this at the nero web site otherwise you can download it via kazaa or something like that, I used ares galaxy to download all my stuff, at www.aresgalaxy.org, hope this helps, by the way, it can take up to 4 hours to convert avi to dvd so you have to be patient

Hazuza Guest | THIS WAS MY SIMPLEST, FASTEST METHOD
http://www.winavi.com/en/download/download.htm
Download that. The download is completely fast and it gives you everything you need.
When it asks for serial number;
Name:
“Alistair Dalrymple”
Code:
“B0E62E8F4FB3BACB9A8F4FB35DE9261BFB8B551E74D6A3BD The fasted converting program”
(THANK YOU MERMAID FOR POSTING THIS)
From there, open the program and click the big button in the corner; To DVD. Simply select the file and be on your way. I don’t think you need to rearrange any settings, but an idiot could do this. If you see anything that’s odd, change it.
Once it’s done converting go back to the main menu. Click 'menu' then 'burn disc'.
Click 'add files' then 'dvd movie'.
Open the folder you just converted your old file to. Mine came out as 'DVD_01_1' since I didn’t set a file name or anything.
Simply insert your dvd, click burn, and wait.
When you insert the file into a DVD player, it’ll have the menu and everything all set up for you.
THIS IS RECCOMMENDED FOR SMALL CLIPS OR PRESENTATIONS. NOT RECCOMENDED FOR USE OF FULL HOUR-LONG DVDS, SINCE IT SPLITS UP YOUR CLIP INTO MANY PARTS.
You can probably figure out how to do longer DVDs or reconfigure your parts if you poke around, though.
Good. Luck.

WISK Guest | So simple just take VSO converter, drag and drop the avi file inot it press “Convert” (Build) put an empty DVD in the writer and just leave it an hour or 90 mins later go back to the PC the DVD draw will be open and there you have a written disc that will play on any DVD player.
