how do i burn avi movies to dvd with nero 6 ultra edition

Hey, I am new at burning DVD and downloading movies! I downlaoded a couple movies and converted them to .avi and I get the files to work using Nero. I get ready to burn the DVD and every movie is too big for 1 DVD. I tried DVD Shrink and I couldnt get into the folder where my movie files are kept. Please help! Thanks.

Hello, I have used this forum to burn dvds and it is very helpfull, thanks everyone, but when I use TMPGEnc Plus it makes a movie file and an audio file? How do I put those into nero so that the audio goes with the movie file? Thanks.

In reply to cookeg...im just about to shrink two of my avi. files to disk now.First of all convert the files using vso divx to dvd program.Then shrink them to fit using dvd shrink 3.2.Look at quote 18 at the starting page of this forum topic posted by francis..It explains everything step by step in 6 paragraphs.GOOD LUCK,Brad.

I am using Nero 6 Ultra Edition to edit a movie, but it won’t let me add audio files to the movie. Is there any way to do this short of buying a new editing program? I was also wondering if there were any programs which convert Nero documents into other types of files (example mpeg or avi)?

Um, ok, i can’t afford to get some of these things. I just want to burn some anime episodes from my computer onto DVD-R’s and i will only fit four episodes. Meaning i’ll have to use eight DVD-Rs, and i need them for other things. I tried to compress the videos with DVD Shrink, but it says it cannot find the file, so i can’t get it on there. Is there something else i can do, or do i have to just make due with four episodes per DVD-R?

myself iv found that avs vidio converter works better its real simple just browse to the file you want converting click it takes about 30 minutes plays in most dvd players

Ok, all of these methods could work, but there is a much easier way for all the beginners out there. Roxio MyDVD ( which can be bought at any software store, or downloaded off the net if you’re a little more experienced ) has a tool that will do all of this for you. Just Open Roxio MyDVD, then choose ( Burn Video to DVD ) select the AVI file that you want. Then where it says ( Title of DVD ) enter in anything you want it to say on the main menu, and click burn. It could take a few hours, because it basically re encodes and does everything above for you, but its simple to use if you are a beginner. But please Note: the quality is good, but not as good as if you were to convert to .VOB files as explained above. But good enough if you dont want the hassle.

Note again, that Nero does not have this option. Only Roxio MyDVD.

DUDE....you people make everything so complicated.

HERE’s WHAT YOU DO:

1.Download a program called 'DVD flick'
2.install 'dvd flick'
3. open 'dvd flick'
4. click 'add title'
5. select the .avi file of the movie you wanna burn
6. click on create dvd
7. wait
8. watch movie

p.s. there are other options like 'create chapter' etc....
the program will even burn it for you. 1 program and thats it...no need for nero, bla blah blah

i had the samething and all you have to do is go to make your own DVD-video option and add the avi file and it will do the rest for you. It will take about 2 hours to create but you can add chapters and music and a background.
