“Batch” means if you want to encode/convert multiple movie files in one conversion project. Get it? A “batch” of movies.
Where as “Merge” is if you want to join your movie files together to become one whole DVD movie.
To answer your second question - If you want your movie to be fullscreen, there are 2 ways to do this in Cucusoft AVI to VCD DVD MPEG Converter Pro.
1. If your source avi file’s aspect ratio is 4:3 (fullscreen), then just select “Keep Aspect Ratio” in the advanced settings section (lower left).
2. If your source avi file is 16:9 (widescreen), then select “Stretch To Fit” instead so that the picture fills the screen (4:3).
Then, you should be able to do everything else as usual. Hope this helps.

From Sa Guest | very easy dowload vso divxtodvd and install
vso divxtodvd converts all formats avi mpeg 1 & 2
after conversion use nero recode 2(download update free from nero.com
recode thru nero recode & at same time nero writes to disc
sounds like a mission — not — a time taking process agreed about 2 hours total and perfect movie on disc
this process is used for home movie production such as weddings ect and works perfect

adamthered Guest | I was wondering if someone could help with a problem I’m having. I have followed Colin’s step by step guide to the letter. When I am finished burning the DVD and then attempt playing it in my stand alone player, I get the menu and the sound, but no picture. When each track starts up, there are colored pixels floating around at the top of the screen and those go away after a few minutes. I have tried using both Nero and the DVD writing tool that came with the computer and it has happened both times.
Anybody have some suggestions and how to fix this? Thank you.

from sa Guest | to teresa93
here is my email address arm@lantic.net
pls read my prev posted reply from sa
u need to understand what u are working with when trying to convert movies — simple process however time taking
make sure u have the following software
1.vso divxto dvd to convert movie to dvd files
2.nero 6 reloaded — update available at nero.com
3.nero 7 if u can get — u can convert movie direct in nero 7 to dvd 5.1 ac audio
4.time
convert movie with vso divxtodvd and the just write files to dvd disc as u would a data dvd
if u need extra quality recode and write converted movie with nero recode 2
pls ensure that u have a plus/minus duel layer dvd writer then u can use dvd+r or dvd-r discs
if u still cant get write email me pc specs and i will advise further
regards

from sa Guest | Hi All
To all of u using winavi — -pls get awayfrom it as winavi encoder is not up to date rather use vso divxtodvd — converts any movie file to dvd i use all time and is great never had a beter movie converter — nero fetures allow more than one title to be imported at same time use nero 6 reloaded version 6.6.0.8 to 6.6.0.16 or even beter still use nero 7 if u can get
pls ensure u are encodeing to the correct tv standard for u’re country eg pal ntsc etc
if combine movies are too big to fit onto std disc use dvd shink or dvd decrypter to downsize
works perfect and has little to no effect on quality provided movie is not too big then use bigger disc
results
perfect dvd

Lucasinkorea05 Guest | HELP!!
I’ve been following the instructions of Colin but I ran into a problem right away.
When I get to Colin’s 9th step, which is:
"""“9. The video will default to the highest possible bitrate, if you are planning on fitting more than one video on a DVD you will need to
adjust the “Estimated File Size” or “Makes file size” percentage to an amount that will fit your needs. (leave a little room for any DVD menu
graphics you may want.) Hit NEXT. """"
The project wizard tells me that my movie file is 290 minutes when it is actually 100 minutes. This makes the file way to large for the program to handle. The AVI file is only 700 mb and I think a DVD should be big enought to handle it.
So, what am I doing wrong. Your collective help would be greatly appreciated.

CARCASSMAN Guest | I use vso divx to dvd to encode to .vob then nero 6 ultra to burn. I always get the dvd to play in home dvd player but the sound stutters every time there is fast movement in the video.Sometimes its so bad that I can’t even tell what they are saying. does this have to do with vso divx to dvd encoding sthe audio and video into the same file? Also when converting a single avi file, there are 4 vob files 2 ifo and 2 bup files in the video_ts folder and no audio_ts folder at all. is this normal? Thanks in advance for any help

KMan Guest | Open up NeroVision Express, select Make Movie, Find the AVI, Mpeg, or Vob files using the Brouse for Media tab. Select brouse and add to Project. When the AVI’s appear within the project box, they should also appear in the time line area below. Select next and then select make dvd whith edited movie. This works for me and I have even added Vob files this way. If you have the right file converter plugins (Serial Number Required) Nero works slick.
