I have never had any problems watching any kind of video until today.
All of a sudden all video’s have muted voices (music is still there) or if there is a voice it is very speedy, kinda chipmunk sounding.

RealTek AC97, winxp sp2.

I reinstalled the AC97 driver and reinstalled all audio codec’s. I just can’t figure out what is causing the problem. I can’t imagine the sound card has gone bad if it is still playing everything fine except for voices in movies. Any help will be very much appreciated.

Figured out what I had to do.

Open config file change preset to Loud
Open movie

That worked.

As a note I didnt have to load config util each time...just that first time.

Start > Program > ac3 filter > Ac3 filter config

Fire that up and on the Main tab at the bottom left set preset to Loud. Then start movie.
