Download it from here:

DivX codec v3.11 alpha
Installation
The DivX codec v3.11 alpha is the original version of the DivX codec which completely revolutionized the world of digital video when it was first released. Please note that there’s no need to install this version of the DivX codec if you’ve already got the DivX codec v5.1.1 installed on your computer as it is fully backwards compatible. However, if you for some reason are having problems with the new codec you could try this codec and see if it works better. To install the DivX codec v3.11 alpha for Windows, follow these easy steps:
1) Download the DivX codec for Windows
2) Use WinZip to extract all the files from the compressed zip-file
3) Right click on the DivX.inf file and choose “Install”
After you’ve installed the DivX codec v3.11 alpha on your computer, Windows Media Player will be able to play the most commonly available version of DivX movies (DivX v3.x). If you run into any problems, please refer to the DivX FAQ for solutions to common DivX codec installation and playback problems.

Do NOT install version DivX codec v5.1.1 from the DivXMovies site because it’s bundled with spyware and adware. So it is bad. |
