SEP Guest | I have a Panasonic DMR-E100 DVD recorder that supports writing content onto it’s built-in SD/MMC drive (the file is an .ASF). This allows you to record TV programs directly onto an SD card which I can pop into my iPaq and watch. The only problem is that Windows Media 9 can play the MPEG4 video but does not understand the audio which is encoded in “G.726” format. I can not find a G.726 codec for an iPaq so I’m trying to convert the file into another format. WM9 on Windows XP does something unusal with this file. It plays it perfectly (video and audio) for approx 3min 26sec and then stops and gives an error message saying that the audio format is not recognized. Very strange. Also several converter programs I’ve tried seem to have dependencies on WM9 and thus only convert the first 3min 26sec as well.
So I’m wondering if some bright person on this forum has some ideas on how to convert my MPEG4 (G.726 audio) files into something that Windows Media 9 for PocketPC can understand? Is there a codec for the PocketPC that can play this type of file fully? I would be happy to send a sample to you if necessary. Thanks very much!
