wandafishie Guest | I downloaded and installed DirectVobSub and renamed the srt file to be excatly as the movie name except for the file name endings, srt and avi, and had them in the same folder and my Media Player Classic started to show the subtitles automatically with the movie

maryd Guest | So i downloaded and installed directvobsub. I have both avi and srt files together, and i tried playing my movie on wmp but the subtitles still didnt show. I read that directvobsub works with wmp, but to be safe i tried downloading mplayer, but i didnt know how to install it. ahh please help!

4. Open the .avi file with a media player (I use VLC).
5. Right-clik and go to subtitle tracks and click on the subtitle track that applies (what language you want to see the subtitles in).

Ugly18046 Guest | I downloaded the latest Jet Li movie from Easynews. I started to play it after unwrapping it and noted that the subtitles were in Dutch or something. I got around this problem by noting that the files came with two .srt files.
(.srt handling subtitles of course) One for Dutch and one for English. I deleted the former and this time the English subtitles kicked in. When downloding the .rar files if you see a text file it can mention which .srt files are included. Good luck!

but is there a way you can burn them to a dvd? I’ve got a korean movie with an srt file, the english dub file (it’s an mp3) AND the avi movie file.

AndyB Guest | I’ve got an odd problem with my VLC player with SRT files. I’m running the latest relase, and it will autodetect the SRT file, but only if the filename is less than 8 chars long.
So for example, syriana.avi works fine with syriana.srt, but DaVinciCode.avi will not work with DaVinciCode.srt.
However, if I go into file/open file and manually add the avi file and srt file, it will play them fine.
Anyone got any ideas on this one?
