I had probs with a few downloaded movies for which the sound would not work. I downloaded and installed ac3codec and now instead of just no sound, my media player simply freezes when I try to play those files. Any suggestions? should I download more codec? Thanks for any help!

I was just searching around for codec packs when I found this thread (first posted today!), & I have EXACTLY the same prob as 'manilagold' & I was searching around for some good codec packs to install to try & solve the prob, but is this necessary?

I’d love to hear of any solutions aswell please! - Cheers smiley

here is a tip from an old man ...

Never install Codec Packs.

Only install the codecs you need.

It screws your computer and at best it slows it down.

Pop over to www.deviosity.com for more info and some help.
