How can so many people share these files, while I can’t even play them. I need a codec or a media player or something that can play them with. I’ve downloaded the biggest codec pack i could find, and nothing. Not even gspot can do anything about it. Please someone help me.

Envis Guest | Hi, i had this problem a few months back, i had a URI-movie and i wouldnt play in WMP or DivX, i was sure i had all the codecs, but after a few hours of google i found that theres like 100 difernt avi codecs or sumin, but anyways...to play this file ild advise using a codec pack called “ace” cut and paste this link in your url: http://www.free-codecs.com/ACE_Mega_CoDecS_Pack_download.htm ive recomended this pack to hundreds with no problems yet, its about 45MB but it will play all movies, and if you do find one it wont, it will give you a link to the codec you need, it truly is great, also as far as im aware you only get URI-Movies on p2p apps like kazzar/shareaza ect, can i advise that you drop these back dated p2p apps and move to Bittorrent, its alot better at sharing large files like movies or games, plus most files are checked before they enter the network, so no more out of sync audio or non-english movies by mistake hope this helps ya’ll
EnViS
P.S. here are some links for torrent sites: http://www.torrentreactor.net/ and you will need a client: www.bitcomet.com/

Gaz Guest | hey folks,
whilst frantically searching for some way to get a downloaded film from edonkey to play on my computer, i stumbled upon this website (more to the point this forum).
i was chuffed to bits to read your posts about the 'ace codec’s media package' and imediatly downloaded said file to my computer. following the installation procedure i sucessfully installed it and went straight to play this phantom film file that has evaded every media player i have (windows player, real player, windvd player, quicktime player, sh#t hot 'plays everything' player, etc, etc) and much to my dispair, my eye’s are blessed yet agin with the 'error message' that bill gates so kindly put on these infernal machines just to make life that little bit more frustrating.
what am i doing wrong? i’ve “messed” around with the dashboard control feature with this package and drawn only blanks (by the term 'messed' i of course mean 'looked' as i’m not very pc literate) i’m now just at that stage were you contemplate taking a hammer to the hard drive, hoping it will see the error of its ways and actually do what i want it to. any help you guys can give will be a GOD SEND!
thanks for your time in reading this message/ plee for help!

Gaz Guest | cheers for the response, but divx don’t work - nor xvid (i’ve tried putting them on numerous times). it must be some really small obscure codec that only this person who uploaded the film has ever used... either that or i’ve done something wrong in a previous life.
does it matter where you install these codecs? i’ve generally just put them in my 'c' drive along with everyhting else. would this be the problem?

It comes with 3-4 media players and a complete list of codecs including INDEO 5.2.
http://www.k-litecodecpack.com/
No spyware or anything.
so try this.
I have no problems with uri movies except that I can see some fat guy walk in and out during the movie.
