. are they the ones with .avi exctension?
if so media player classic did fine. (Had divx 5 installed.)
..i’ve always thought that pdtv-lol stands for a group of people.

pdtv-lol is NOT a codec format as it was put before this. It is a group that puts out DVD rips of TV shows and movies to the Bit Torrent sites.

All you need to view these files are either the DIVX 5 codec pack or the XVID pack installed on your system.

Or you can simply use Nero to encode the video to VCD format and burn it to VCD and view it on your DVD player. I do this all the time with episodes of Stargate Atlantis that I end up missing sometimes, then I take the VCD and pop it into the DVD player and hook the VCR up to it and copy it to tape.

So far this method has helped me record every Stargate Atlantis episode to date. It’s like I never missed any at all smiley

I Just drag and drop the pdtv files on my Intervideo WinDVD #4 interface, I don’t think waiting for encoding in nero is the best answer. Or maybe the player that comes with dvds could work aswell, but that is just a guess.

In many cases, playing back the torrent files downloaded from various sites (i.e PDTV-LOL, HDTV-LOL, etc.) just involves having the correct codecs loaded on your computer. Best place I’ve found to get all the current codecs in one simple install is: http://www.k-litecodecpack.com/ Make sure to download the K-Lite Codec Pack Full or standard... it’s free.... do not go for their 'Mega Pack”. — - hope this helps — —

VLC doesn’t work, media players neither, I tried doanloading the Xvid Codec, but does it work with one specific player? I’m not too sure... I also dowloaded a prog to check what codec the files need needs and in says N/A, so...???? and I really want to watch my simpsons! please help! what can I do?

I simply use the DivX-player. It works fine for me,and I’ve never had a problem with playing the files.

the file name should besomething like :

(name).pdtv-lol.[BT].avi

if its like this:

(name).pdtv-lol.[BT]
try putting ".avi” next to it so that windows reconizes it as an avi file then you should be able to watch it

I would reccomend the K-lite codec pack from http://mirror3.edskes.com/

Its not right for sites to charge for free programs.

How big is your files?

you have downloaded the torrent seed file. Did you use a torrent client and download the real file?

if your files are only few KB they are the seed NOT the video files.

Use a torrent client and download the video file.

I know thi sounds like the question, did you plug the computer to power outlet? but.... never know?

Just downloaded the new american dad episode, 103. Ive got many other pdtv files and they all work, but this paticular one doesnt. Ive got the ace mega codecs pack installed, and ive tried to run the file using all the usuals, e.g. quicktime, realplayer, windows media classic, even nero showtime and powerdvd, but none work.
