See b4 all this they worked fine when i played them in realplayer and windows media but the video was slower than the audio so if i was watching an episode of something they would be saying stuff but i’d still be watching the last scene....

start>run>type"regsvr32.exe l3codecx.ax” did the trick. Thank you very much!

Ive tried the steps that have worked for others...but mine unfortunatley intends on being difficult...

i dont get the success message from the “l3codecx.acm” file...but i do get one from the .ax file.

The video that im trying to watch, will work on my laptop, using an older version of....everything? but this comp, all the files are the latest, and they dont work?

does anyone have any alternate fixes for this?

Ok the method described worked best,

first download and install file.

then run this regsvr32.exe l3codecx.ax

Then play fil. Worked AWSOME! Thank you!

Another one helped here smiley

Just as a side thing, when I downloaded it, I didn’t get l3codecx.acm, I got l3codecp.acm. Might be good to check what letter you others get between the c and the dot.

I also had to move the .acm/.ax files from wherever they ended up to windows\system32, just like others mentioned.

Just FYI, there could be another reason for the Audio Tag 85. Some motherboard uses RealTek Audio97. If the driver is not installed properly, it will produce a Tag 85 no matter what codec you have installed. I would suggest going to the motherboard manufacturer’s website to download the appropriate driver.

I tried pasting that code and put it in “Run” but it says it failed. Now what to do?

I got the files to work via ffdshow (the link was posted on this thread) and that seemed to be the only thing that got the files playing via windows media player. When I try to burn the files to a vcd (using nero), I still get the problem with video and no audio.

Any more ideas?

This is too funny. I downloaded everything! I tried everything!!! I tried playing my file in several different players. I finally got fed up, decided to delete all the stuff I had download, VideoLan, etc...

I was about to go download the file I couldn’t hear again but clicked once more to try it. NOW I can hear it. I have no clue what worked.

Computers!!
