Krazy Bone Guest | Hi
I have purchased a DMTECH 26ich LCD tv with built in DVD player.
On purchase I had thought through that I wanted it to have. The main requirement was to have a VGA connector so I can hook it up my PC. The built in dvd was extra so i thought it would be nothing special.
I wished to run my DIVX movies through my TV via the pc but....on reading the manual for the tv section about the DVD, i found to my delight it has the ability to play divX movies.
I tried to run many divX movies but all my tests have failed. It seems the dvd can view the folders but cant view the files.
I can only play mp3 and view my pictures.
can anyone help me, I need to know how to burn the discs, so that the dvd will play the avi files. This is the format that it is meant to support?

BobTheDevilAndGod Guest | there might be a difference between .avi and .divx (yes i know its the name of the company but i think they have files named that too) not sure bout this, know they have .xvid files which it may also be referring to. doubt this will help but anyway.

DIVX Maniac Guest | What version of DIVX does the TV support. If it only supports 4 and you have movies created with the DIVX 5.02 or 5.11 etc then the TV will not play them. You will have to re-encode the movies.
DivX moves are saved as an .AVI extention with the DIVX encoding.

Krazybone Guest | that is soo true ... i recently brought a liteon HDD + DVD recorder 160GB and it plays DivX and it plays just about every divX i have feed it.. that tv is such a scam... on that divX lie....
hey also the liteon recorder plays DivX DRM which is mint cuz you can download films at 600kb per second off websites for as little as £1 for a film rent ... it comes in about an hour that is soo cool and i can watch em easy

lucho Guest | Our Dmtech tv was working fine but one day we try to switch it on and the only thing we got was the centre switch on/off botton blinking. It does not respond to the remot control or any thing alse.
We would be greatful if you could give us a light of what the problem could be.

dontbuycheap Guest | Your Best bet is to buy a standalone DVD plaver with DivX/Xvid playback - these vary in price and U stand a better chance of it playing most of your avi formats. That TV is crap - Although u could try re-encoding back to DivX3, DivX4 or Xvid. You should get your movies to play but it Depends on how much you understand about encoding movies using different codecs. How are you encoding your DivX5 files? or did you get them like that?

DMTECH SERVICE Guest | Dear Customer,
The Dvd players firmware me need to be updated.
This can be downloaded from our site burnt onto a disk and then played as if a Dvd to update the firmware.
You can also try an EEPROM RESET
Go into analogue tv moded pressing the TV-DVBT button press DISPLAY and the the digit 1 twice folllowed by the button labelled LINE. This will bring up a menu which you should use the down arrow key to select EEPROM reset and then the right arrow key to execute the function.
You must then turn the television off by the mains.
You should also check the DIVX on the DVD menu.
Eject the dvd tray and then press the red button titled setup. Select the tool box tab with the right arrow key. Before you press enter type the code 3333.
This will show you DIVX versian and the firmware version which should end in 18 or atleast 20 which is the most up to date.
The update will be avaliable on our website shortly.
Kindest Regards
DMUK SERVICE
