How to identify the codec in a file?

Hello,

I need to identify, which codecs are used by a platform, maybe MWP 10, to find out, which one of them chrashed.

I know gspot and mpg properties, but there must be an better one who works wuth avi and mpg. Have some ideas?

Click on general forums in moviecodec.com and look at the tools to identify which codecs you need message there are a few things on there
