I have the same problem. Many older (2 years old) DVD players don’t support KVCD. My Toshiba 2600 plays only DVDs and VCDs. I use AVS Video Converter to cut VCDs from Divx and MPEG files, but it doesn’t support KVCD. I’d like to convert KVCD to VCD; any ideas ? Many thanks.

You can very well do it by using Nero Smart. Just do a backup from image utility and direct it to the .cue file.

You can use MagicISO to open the cue file, it will then ask if you want to open the track in vcd mode or something.
Choose yes by clicking OK.
It will scan the files, be patient.
Once completed, it should show you a video file.
You can then just simply rightclick on this and choose extract.
Save this somewhere on your hard drive(make sure to remember where).
You should now have a mpg file of your movie!

There is one problem which I hope someone can help with: It seems to cut off 5-10 minutes from the end.

Anyone know a way to fix this or a better method of extracting kvcd files?

yeah...any iso extracter that extracts mpegs, isobuster should work just fine

just extract the mpg and burn like a normal vcd using vcd easy, or if ur dvd supports it, just add it to a data cd and burn!

to convert kvcd or vcd to dvd use iso buster load your kvcd or vcd then goto the mpegav folder right click on the AVSEQ01.dat file and click extract but filter only m2f2 mpeg frames find a place to save it delete the .dat part of the file name and add .mpg to the end this is an important step dont forget to add the .mpg to the end of the file name then open up tmpgenc dvd author click create new project add the mpg file or files if you have multiple files make a menu then convert it to dvd it only take about 10 minute to do a 100 minute movie

I got to the part where you extract filtering the m2f2, and after that how do you change from .dat to .mpg? Just rename it? The name does not show .dat I know this may be a little dumb, but I just renamed it with .mpg, is this the correct way? Thanks

hey amafrias well if you could not see the .dat most likely you have windows set not to view extensions or some bs so turn that off the make sure you take out the .dat and put .mpg in its place....
