Extracting scenes from an ISO file

I am making a home video and for creative effects, I want to pepper my home movie with short clips from various motion pictures i.e. a scene from Shrek.

I have ripped DVD’s ( that i own ) using DVD Shrink and have the iso file on my p.c.

Can anyone spell out how I would/should go about maniputlating this iso file so that it can be recognized in some common editing program such that I can then cut out the scenes I want to integrate into my home movie.
