james Guest | HI
I am having a problem with AVI files on my laptop. It plays alright with media player but the audio does not correspond with the video. The sound is a few seconds ahead of the video.
I’ve tried playing it with realplayer, powerDVD,VLC player and still the same with audio but video is dis-coloured.
Please help!!
P.s other files format play fine i.e MPG,MPEG,WMV etc.

Cptn_Sargos Guest | First, you should update your drivers. Windows comes up with a lot of updates that could clash with old drivers. Newer drivers are aware of the updates with Windows and hopefully will fix your problem. If that doesn’t help, post me back with your CPU speed and how mcuh RAM you have. Lacking the power or RAM will also make that happen, because you computer cannot catch up with what it’s trying to do.

james Guest | Hi
Thanks for the fast reply.Sorry it took so long to get back. Anyway my laptop runs at 597 mhz and 256 mb of ram.Hope that helps.
If this is the problem how do i go about freeing more ram for playing this avi format??
Thanks again | |

Try downloading the divx codec at www.divx.com. The codec alone should be free. See if that works out, if not, just POST back.
