Guest2005 Guest | Don’t need Cole’s package. I hate packages of any sort. I only want specific codecs for what I want done. As the previous posts stated, AC3filter in its latest incarnation fully supports DTS playback on PCs.
http://ac3filter.sourceforge.net/download/ac3filter_1_01a_rc5.exe
It works where everything else failed.

Take a long hard look at this thread if you can actually read properly, look at the date the thread started...
At the time of the thread starting the only decoder that supported DTS was InterVideo’s (Only the version with WinDVD 5) via Gabests splitter.
I gave a free solution while the only other option would have cost people money.
@ zdaxxy
My site will have warned you 3 times and informed you that you were blocking ads or cookies.
I ran my site at a complete loss for 9 months and then became absolutely sick of site leeching grab asses such as yourself.
Do you think my domain, DNS, hosting, download space, CNET submission etc. etc. are free? Are you really so high on crack?
Re: ac3filter v1.01aRC5, it’s unstable, has nobody figured out that the “a” is for alpha?
Problems include crashes in encoder applications and also a loss of volume.
Re: ffdshow versions supporting DTS, once again they’re alpha’s, also the very latest build was a dud http://ffdshow.sourceforge.net/tikiwiki/tiki-read_article.php?articleId=18
The older real build is featured in my packs, but it has it’s problems too... single instance crashes under Windows XP & MCE when SPDIF is used (so by default it’s set to disabled unless people want to change it)
Before you tar me with the same brush as k-l*** or Ni** do your homework and read what you’re about to reply to.
Unlike others I do help out on forums, I do reply to peoples questions and I even have my own forum while nobody else dares to, through fear of mass complaints.
www.cole2k.net still with the only stable DTS solution.

wobhee Guest | hi everyone,
I am having similar problem of not receiving audio for an avi file while the players are working fine for other video (avi, mpeg, wmv) files.
You seem to know a lot but I just wanted to know something simple that if I download an audio codec from the http://www.cole2k.net website then I should be able to play the movie.
is that correct?
thanks

Ommadawn Guest | Recently I d/l a DTS Audio Cd from the net. It came as .CUE and CdImage.Wav, used nero burn image, but nothing in the pc would play this disc. Searched the net for clues, almost deleted it, thinking it was a bad joke, then I stumbeled on this thread.
Downloaded VLC, and what do you know, it plays the disc with no effort, no extra codecs needed, NADA (besided, I hate it when they tell me install an extra set of codecs). Whoever mentioned the VLC solution, I salute you.

os008_ Guest | thanks Cole for your support man, i was wondering how can i edit any codec properties, for example ...
when i open a movie with a subtitle file accompanied with it VobSub kicks in, and loads this green twisted arrow thing beside the clock on the TrayBar, i right click and there i can see the properties of all loaded codecs
but the problem is that i can’t edit the codecs' properties fully because simply they r in a running mode, AC3 and DivX made it simple with its control panel while not playing a movie, but other codecs doesn’t have it, so how can i edit them? thanks.

Wannabe Rep: 0 Joined: 16 Feb 2004 Posts: 15 OFFLINE | Most codecs can’t be altered during playback, especially video ones, even if you can change the settings the changes wont usually take effect until you close the video and re-open it.
I don’t think there is any way of changing the settings while they’re in use.

fatli Guest | Dear Cole,
Your audio codec is amazing. Before I found this forum. I tried every other ways to get the dts audio to work. After installing your codec pack, it’s like magic!!! Thank you very much. You are a star. Cheers.

T1 Guest | If you do not want to install Cole’s codec pack you can try VideoLan’s VLC Media Player.
Download version 0.7.2 with DTS decoding: http://downloads.videolan.org/pub/videolan/vlc/0.7.2/win32/dts/
Later versions do not support DTS decoding. Check out the news for “Release: VLC 0.8.0” to see why: http://videolan.org/news.html
It’s not perfect but you might want to give it a try.
I read in the VideoLAN forum that you can also compile the latest VLC version with dts decoding but I have not tried that.

quiggly6 Guest | I am having a similar problem. I am trying to decompress the audio in a movie. Virtualbud tells me it needs a tag: 2000 codec. I have downloaded several different ones and nothing seems to work. I can play the movie and audio on my computer using PowerDVD but have had no luck trying to decompress it other wise. Anyone have any ideas?
Ryan
