I am currently doing some research into video codecs and I need to know how to work out the bit-rate of the data stream for a given resolution and frame-rate.
Just taking MPEG-1 as an example. With a resolution of 352 x 240 at 30 frames per second, how do you work it out for it to be about 1.5 Mbit/s?
I’m not looking for the exact formula but I need a pseudo-formula or even just an idea of how the figures are caculated together to get the result.
Any help would be greatly appeciated. Thanks very much in advance.
Regards,
