Hello, I am wondering how to convert either Quicktime Video-Clip Files or Windows Media Video-Clips to (jpg|gif|png|bmp|swf). I want to get the video clips to work in photobucket. I am pretty sure gif is the only animated/video file type of those and the rest are just stills but I could be wrong..Those are just the file types that work in photobucket.

www.sorenson.com will probably have what you are looking for. Not sure about doing it with a free app.

.gif can be animated - you are correct. swf is a shockwave flash file. Not animated in the same way, but animated.

Just had another thought. To convert to a .gif (although not from WMF as far as I am aware) you can use photoshop’s ImageReady. You get to select frame rate etc... and then just use the animation tool.

Sorry — that utility only converts .AVI movies, not .MOV (QuickTime) movies.

GeoVid does Mov files, I had to use it just before, seems better than all the others I have tried.

There is a forum on the developers page. You can ask your questions there: http://www.geovid.com/forum/index.php

I don’t have a solution for the whole thing (quicktime/windows media to jpg/gif/png/bmp/swf), but I do have one for some of it.
For quicktime to any image format (I presume you want to build an image sequence), use quicktime pro. I have more detailed instructions in this thread.

To convert .wmv files to .jpg use Windows Movie Maker and while image is being previewed click the TAKE PICTURE button in lower right hand corner of panel. Works with both Video Stills and
Video Movies...

ffmpeg (http://ffmpeg.sourceforge.com) is your daddy ;D

for the faint-at-heart (those not familiar with downloading source code, compiling and command line bravery) rivavx (www.rivavx.com; nice windows gui wrapped around ffmpeg libraries) might be a solution.

good luck!

geovid video to flash converter can convert mov files, everything depends on codecs installed on your pc! for quicktime conversion you need quicktime alternative codec. i’ve also downloaded it from geovid website for free.
also there’s a program for video to image conversion. i have not tried it yet but if someone still being interested... it is here http://www.geovid.com/VidGIF (converts video to gif) and here http://www.presentavid.com/Video_to_Image (it’s FREE)
