When I try to play avi or mpg files on WMP I get a crackling type sound all the way through the video. The picture is fine & the proper sound still plays, but the crackling sound is over the top really loud.

I have tried installing K Lite Codec pack & have run Video Inspector & GSpot which both say I have the correct codecs installed.

Please help!

Yeah I also have this problem. It only started recently, possibly when I installed some new codecs or a new program to play video. I find it mostly occurs on music videos which I get off mIRC, but it has also occurred in several episodes of cartoons tha I have ripped from DVD, so tha eliminates the internet as the offender. Guess we’ll just have to wait until someone smarter than us comes up with a solution.
