I want to burn a AVI file to VCD or DVD. At first I could not open the file and Nero (trial version)said this : “Missing features: M-PEG 4 video decoding”. I used GSpot and I figured out that the codec for video was missing.(DivX4) I installed the DivX412Codec. The video play fine in Media Player Classic but when I try with Nero or CDBurnerXp the video look like garbage. It’s like a bunch of flicking small squares of different colors. I still get the same message from Nero.Thank you.

You probably shouldn’t be installing the DivX 4.12 codec. It’s kind of outdated now and might be incompatible with newer systems. I’d recommend using DivX 6 since it’s backwards-compatible with DivX 4 (or DivX 5 if you have Windows Me or earlier).
Get DivX 6 at http://www.divx.com
